Block out the diary, fill up the car and buckle up tight! We’re back at the British Motor Show, and we’re going bigger (and greener) than ever.
Oh yes, we’re bringing our adrenaline-pumping, tyre-burning, eye-opening drift experience to the British Motor Show from the 18th to the 21st August 2022 at Farnborough’s International Exhibition Centre.
Following our triumphant return to events in 2021, the motor show has firmly established itself as a highlight in the Caterham calendar. Check out below to see what we have planned for this year…
DRIFT TAXI
The headline act! Our legendary passenger experience returns. For £15, you can jump in with one of our professional drifters and enjoy a sideways slalom experience. Check out the video from 2021 right here. Currently, this is the only event in 2022 that we’ll be running Drift Taxi – so be sure to book your tickets to the British Motor Show here.
On the subject of tickets, you cannot pre-book Drift Taxi tickets. Due to the high demand, a queuing system will be in place. Timings can be found below:
Thursday: 10:00 – 13:30 & 14:00 – 17:30
Friday: 10:00 – 13:30 & 14:00 – 17:30
Saturday: 10:00 – 13:30 & 14:00 – 17:30
Sunday: 10:00 – 13:30 & 14:00 – 16:30
To make sure that we keep running smoothly throughout, we’ll be supported by the team from Halfords Advanced. These titans of tools and masters of mechanics have been officially supporting our motorsport championships for three years, so they know a thing or two about keeping cars on circuit!
GREENER THAN EVER
There is no escaping the fact that events like this use a lot of fuel, and a lot of tyres.
We’ve teamed up with Sustain Fuels (a Coryton company) to run our fleet of drift vehicles entirely on biofuel. So, what exactly does that mean?
In short, the cars run, drive, and make the same noise as before, but 100% of the carbon dioxide emissions are neutral. Any carbon dioxide coming from the exhaust already existed in the atmosphere – meaning that our fuel is carbon-neutral, and won’t damage the environment. That’s not all, we’re also working closely with Avon Tyres. Of course, we’ll be burning through rubber (how else are you going to drift?) – and naturally there will be some tyre smoke. However, the tyres we’re using will be recycled. They can be turned into anything from pens, to playground flooring, to soundproofing and construction materials.
PADDLUP SIMULATOR
Want to get behind the wheel of a Seven? Fancy showing off your driving skills? Then jump into our LIFE-SIZE SIMULATOR. Yep, it’s an actual Seven with a full simulator built in.
Completely free to take part in, the simulator will be inside our experience centre – right next to the Drift Taxi arena. Plus, if you beat the fastest time – we’ll give you a free T-Shirt!

MOTORSPORT ARENA
Like we said, we’re going bigger than before. This year we’ll be joining the show’s latest addition, the motorsport arena. Anything and everything related to motorsport will be part of a moving motor show. Featuring motorbikes, record breakers, drifters, historic racers, PLUS THE CATERHAMS!
Our five iconic championships will be showcasing every day at 15:30, with Motosport GP and Eurosport presenter Abi Stephens. Abi will be joined by our very own Chris ‘Cheesy’ Hutchinson – former Caterham racer and current livestream commentator.
Fun Fact: Caterham runs the largest manufacturer-backed racing championships in Europe, and have created over 1,200 new racing drivers. Next year sees a huge hange for Caterham as we join the ranks of BARC, the organisers of racing championships including British Touring Cars, MINI Challenge and Porsche Carrera Cup.
